Joint bank account- are there Any ADVANTAGES of being the PRIMARY account holder?

when opening a joint bank account with somebody (we are both in different addresses)

and one will be the primaray account holder, and the other the secondary

what are the advantage sof the primary account holder? are there any?

more control? or anything?

Your name gets printed first on any statements or other mail addressed to both of you

Some PPI insurances on overdrafts would only cover the primary account holder.

Really should ask the bank, certainly outside of current accounts you get not true joint accounts where you have a primary and a secondary and the primary can define the extent of the secondaries authority but they never have the authority to close the account. It could be something similar but it then isnt a traditional "joint" account.

There's very little difference.

At some (all?) building societies, only the first named account holder has voting rights.
