Hi guys
Does anyone know what this berry is on the tree?
I am suspicious that it might be poisonous due to the vivid red backdrop of petals that house the berry. A bit of red for danger?
Hope it is edible thoug of course:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

JumbleJack I have no idea what this plant is. My DH thinks it is a garden plant gone ferral. He suggested getting a cutting and taking it to a garden centre for advice."Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence."Weight loss challenge:j: week 1~ Napoleon Bonaparte

If you Google images, it looks very similar.
If it is, then THIS link suggests the leaves are mildly analgesic, antipruritic, hypotensive and sedative subject to this disclaimer :Always seek advice from a professional before using a plant medicinally."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

It's wimberry time in the north. [Or you can call them bilberries or myrtille if you want.]
Collected a pound and a half of them and made them into an open topped, very fancy flan with a butter shortbread base. Makes your mouth go purple - but the taste is out of this world.
I love this thread.Thanks to all posters.arghhh!!!0 -
It may be harlequin glorybower (Clerodendrum trichotomum)

Thanks bad rick.
I have just googled the images and they look slightly different to the bush I saw. They look more similar to the images of Ochna serrulata (Mickey Mouse Bush) but even that is not an exact match that Im happy with.
Very confused!
Thanks a million.:):A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
