Advice on a fracture please

Hi
Recently my dd had an mri which showed a suspected frature. However we thought the painful back problem she was having had gone away as the pain had dissapeared. Can a fracture still be showing even when healed or healing. Im grateful for any help.TIA x

Yes, an MRI can show old fractures. My OH had one a few years ago which showed he has several fractured vertebrae, probably from when he used to cycle 15 odd years ago.

Yes, certainly. X rays, CT scans and MRI scans can all show perfectly healed fractures.

They should have a good idea. AFAIK, they can tell the difference between healed, partially healed and new. Have you spoken to the consultant about it? Who organised the scan? You need to be asking them what exactly the results were.
