if you plan on watching films, playing games or doing video editing etc the screen is a little too small. You should aim for around the 15" screen, also is it a WideScreen or not, you should try and get a widescreen.

What is the resolution of the monitor and what are you paying for it

Alter warranty collection to 1 year to get the £386 price, you won't find a better Dual Core laptop deal anywhere, it will meet all your needs.

Its got a good spec, but the price is what you gonna pay for a ultra portable, do you really need such a small laptop? as you can get bigger ones for cheaper.

It also depends what type of work or activities you going to use on it. I personally find 12.1 inch screens to small and go for min 15.4 these days.

Only major problem with the smallers laptops is the keyboard can be bloody difficult to use - smaller keys, shorter transit and less response. Not something I would presonally want to use for any length of time (and I say this having used Sony and Samsung small laptops).

Yes, it is a really nice laptop - bought mine from PCWorld just after Christmas & I've got no complaints - just taken advantage of the 'free' Vista Premium upgrade as well. I'd class it as an ultra-portable & not a desktop replacement but as I needed something small & light it's been ideal. The keyboard is extremely good & battery life is excellent. Compared to the other ultra portables on offer - nothing much less than £1,000, it was & still is a bargain. Only one complaint, it has 1Gb of RAM but this uses both memory slots, so should you ever need to upgrade RAM it could be pricier than it should be.

    thanks all,

i think i will keep looking because i do not have a pc and will be using it for long periods of time therefore, the screen might be a little small for that reason. Does anyone know of any computers in the medium size range? from what i have seen they are all either big, bulky and heavy or really small! i do want to take it to uni with me as well as use it at home with my kids.

Anyone know if you can you plug a full size keyboard in to a laptop? that way i could still get the small one and plug in the keyboard in and raise the screen for when i am at home. Also it would stop the kids messing with the settings on the laptop! any thoughts?
