International Money transfer

Trying to transfer some money from my UK bank, NatWest, to my Cambodian bank, Canadia. I know NatWest are having problems but I believe this isn't related to that.

I tried yesterday and found the transfer was rejected.

1: yes money was there in NatWest
2: destination bank account details are correct (confirmed by Canadia 30 mins ago)

BUT.. I enter the swift code correctly where asked for it but when I look at the transfer details after it has been rejected the SWIFT code changes from CADIKHPP to CADIKHPPXXX. All the confirmation screens I see while going through the process of doing the transfer all say the correct SWIFT code though.

I have just re-tried the transfer and changed my name from lower case to all caps as it appears on my Canadia account and entered their address word for word as it appears on their help sheet for international transfers.

Any suggestions? if this doesn't work. I could withdraw $200 a time from the ATM but the charges incurred for this method are over double and the time factor of $200/day is a damn nuisance tbh.

Assume you are in Canada at the moment? Personally would call Natwest and speak to their international transfers department and do it via them if you cant get the website to work
  • I'm in Cambodia. The bank I am using here is called Canadia Bank :)

    Anyway, Update:-

It appears the funds have left my UK bank. Will pop to an ATM to check my balance here now.
I made sure I used the same case (lower upper) that appears on my bank account and the bank address for the receiving bank. Also I transfered dollars not pounds sterling. Not sure which worked tbh but fingers crossed the money's here today or tomorrow.
