Hi I'm thinking of starting to grow my own veggies in a wooden raised bed. Can you tell me some of the easy veg to grow as a novice please?
Thanks in advance

There should still be time to grow the basic root veg, such as carrots, turnips or beetroots. Just plant the seeds, wait a week or two for them to germinate, and watch them grow.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Yeah, you should be ok to put some carrots and other root veg in. Have a look at the sowing dates on the back of some packets in the garden centre. I always grow salad and rocket, which grow quite quickly. Strawberries are always nice to have. As long as you follow the instructions on the pack, use compost and keep the raised beds moist, you should be fine.

Another tip - don't sow seeds too thickly and remember, it's always best to sow the seeds too near to the surface than too deep!
