Net curtains behind blinds

Hi all
We have put some new coving in into our living room which means that we can no longer fit a curtain pole above the window.
It looks like we will have to go for vertical blinds instead.
I like the look of venetians but with asthma sufferers in the house, I think they would be too dusty.
As our house is right opposite a bus stop and is in a burglary hot spot I am keen to stop people looking in. Previously we had net curtains - can I still put these behind blinds?
IE with the track for the blinds would there be enough space left in the window recess for nets or a voile or something else?!

When I become president of everywhere, net curtains will be the first thing to go.
If you must - can you fit some voiles to a pole inside the window recess?0 -
ha ha! yes i know they're naff but I dont know how else to stop people peering in- never had voiles before - just wondering if people with blinds in have space left in the window recesses.0

Well... it kinda depends on your recess. I certainly haven't done it before, but then again as soon as I move somewhere I have a ceremonial net curtain burning session.
A walk along just about any street in the UK will demonstrate dozens of foul, dirty, old fashioned nets.
I would stick with the blinds and just angle them upwards so people can't peer in. If someone is so determined they will press their face right up to your windows then they will see through the nets anyway.0 -
Nets with blinds is the home owning equivalent of wearing socks with Jesus sandals.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Have you considered reflective film?0

Ditch the blinds, just angle the vertical slats towards the boring side slightly.
If people are passing they are unlikely to easily see in if angled unless they make a determined attempt.
Just shut them fully when you leave the house."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

If you want nets or voiles behind your blinds, you have them. It's your house, so do what you want! The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
