Paypal help

Usually when I pay with paypal the payment is instant - I have a confirmed address with paypal and payment is fast. I did not use my account for a few months and was away so I don't know if any changes has been paid - but when I went to pay for an item I won on ebay last week it went through the e-cheque process which took 2 weeks to clear!!!

I don't want to always go through this process how do I change it back to instant payment?!?!

has your debit/credit card on file expired...if it has it usually defaults to an e-cheque payment

I have had the same problem recently.

I use Paypal once every couple of months and recently made a US purchase (for postage to a relative's address in America) which took 3 weeks to clear. I used Paypal for an Ebay UK purchase 2 weeks ago and it only cleared today because it was an e-cheque payment.

Does anyone know how we can get it back to instant payment? I understand a delay if it's overseas but not if it's here.

Just checked my Paypal account and found that my credit card had expired. I've updated the details and hope it will go back to instant payments.

Why don't Paypal notify people? I'll know in the future I suppose ... Thanks to MSE for the advice
  • Yep - checked mine after the post by penny and it had expired.
