Can you lovely people point me in the right direction please :)

Today I was offered a job :) I have been in college for a year training

I am taking it and it starts in September 2012.

I need to get the ball rolling but do not know where to start.

I currently get

Income support
Carers allowance
DLA higher rate care (for 5 year old son)
CB for 4 children 3 are mine 1 is sister who will be going to college in september
CTC for the 4 of them
and HB
I am a single parent, 2 children will go into before and after school club, youngest will need a childminder after school (he gets transport to and from his school and transport will leave before I need to)

I know I need to ring the job centre but otherwise what else do I need to do, my LL knows about job but as long as rent is paid he is ok with it all.

Thank you x

Contact your Lone Parent / Family Adviser at the Jobcentre & they'll sort it all out with you.

And well done! You must be excited.

To be eligible for carer's Allowance you need to be caring for someone at least 35 hours per week.

As your job is full time you may have problems meeting that criteria.

I don't know a lot about this benefit - but will you be entitled to Working Tax Credit?

Great news on getting the job, I hope it all goes well for you.
Full time term time sounds perfect for your circumstances, you must be over the moon. :)

Thank you guys sorry forgot to come and update.
Had a meeting with lone parent advisor on Friday, will get wtc for childcare which is a huge bonus and a back to work payment for a year. They were really helpful, have another meeting the end of August where they will sort out the paperworks for HB CTC etc and sign me off their books.
I will lose my carers allowance but in the grand scheme of things I would rather work and lose that.
