I have just purchased a netgear router to link my old & new pc to use aol broadband. The instructions from my old pc show a ethernet port but when I come to wire it all up - it's not there!! - just read some of the other info that came with the pc and it was an optional extra.
Can I add a ethernet port & does anyone know how much this will cost? ???

A 10/100 MBPS PCI Network Interface Card (NIC) should cost around 5 or 6 quid. Novatech, ebuyer, or a local computer fair.
Assuming you are basically OK with opening the PC case, slotting in a new card, and installing the drivers from a floppy or CD, that's about all there is to it.

Many thanks for the advice. I ordered the ethernet card on ebay (before the message about USB connector!) and fitted it myself with no electric shocks and it WORKS!!! :-*
But...the netgear router doesn't, I'm going to try and set it up again and post another topic if I fail!Smootchie Bootchies!0
