Hi
It is my husbands 30th Birthday in January 2008 and as a surprise for him I am looking to book a skiing trip with our friends.
I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a resort that is suitable for families there will be 7 adults 1 toddler and 2 babies travelling. We ideally would like a large chalet with 4 bedrooms that is close to local amenities.
All of us will be beginners (no-one has skied on snow before!)
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated

how about lapland? have a look at the inghams site for the early bird prices.
we have booked for Yllas (finland) for xmas in a cabin, there are lots of accommodation options and from my research Lapland is reasonably cheap when it comes to Skiing. The learn to ski package with inghams is about £160 for the week and that gives you everything that you need
perhaps Levi may be a better option for you as you are mainly adults as it's more of a lively resort, Yllas is far more remote and quite
there is also all the santa stuff for the toddler0 -
Hi Kath_T,
After this years lack of snow in so many resorts make sure you choose somewhere that is high enough or has good connections to high areas. Les Arc, Flaine and Meribel are all good for beginners. I'd probably aim for somewhere in the Three Vallees, Courchevel is fantastic, but pricey, Meribel is very British, however it's pretty and there's loads of chalets and babysitters. Also make sure you pre-hire your skis online before you leave, snowbrainer.co.uk is a good site, it's much cheaper than paying the resort price. Check out the Ski Club of Great Britain website too, it's full of good information0
