Natwest Isa Issues

Hi all, I wonder if anyone could provide me with some advice.

I transferred my Natwest Isa in April (got the referral from this site), however they took 7 weeks to transfer it across which i complained about, they said they were backlogged with requests blah blah and they told me my complaint was logged and they would contact me in 5 days (which they didnt).

I went to my local natwest to chase the payment, the bank manager would ring me but didnt.

After one month (my interest rate is 3.5% and I hold £33k with them) they credited me £83 interest, I went back again as this obviously well short of what it should be.

They said some BS about a statement being issued on the 11th and my interest would be from 11th to 11th and then paid on the 30th? I have never heard of anything so redic anyway he said wait a month and come back.
Well obviously I get basically the same this month. Anyway they confirmed by 3.5% rate and that should be like £100 a month. I couldnt be bothered to go back to the guy in the branch so I phoned and the guy was like wait for the year to past and if your still short ring us back, are you for real?

Whilst I was on the phone I said to them whatever happened to that complaint, her response was that they are behind (it was logged 5th April) and someone would contact me soon. I said to her 7 weeks is a bit of joke and she mugged me off with some nonsense.

anyway, is it best practise for a bank and with all their current problems am i expected to just wait and wait?

I think they owe me like £125-£150 which I know isnt massive but they should still give me what they owe right?

    Hi Harrry,

My interest didn't get paid right initially.
It's meant to be backdated to when your money leaves the old account.
I raised a complaint and it was fixed in 4 weeks although that was BEFORE the recent NW fiasco.

If your complaint hasn't been fixed within 8 weeks you are entitled to go to the FOS (financial ombudsman service). This is free an independent and IMO you have a caste iron case.

Next time you speak to them ask for a reference number for your complaint.
You might want to mention the FOS as it costs NW about £500 if you raise your complaint there so it might hurry them up.
Do you know when you raised the complaint?
  • perfect reply, exactly what i was looking for. Thank you so much :)

    5th April btw
