Using AliExpress/Chinese sellers

I am ramping up my game - from an initial investment of £297 eighteen months ago I have a successful little business going.
Now looking to order from China.
Does anyone have any tips?! I have been looking at AliExpress but it's a minefield out there!
Anything I should know or avoid about using AliExpress or buying from China?
I noticed that the sellers on AliExpress are given 4 stars by default if a buyer does not leave feedback for example!

I use AliExpress and like the escrow system, they apparently don't release your money until you acknowledge receipt of the goods.
The downside is the wait, around 30 days is normal for delivery.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you - I am still looking into it but I have found a product I want to buy and several sellers have it and offer different options.
Some are freepost and some use couriers, obviously this is reflected in the item price - is China Air to be avoided?!!
It does say IMPORTANT: China Post Air Parcel deliveries might result in delays and lost parcels.0 -
China air is fine, just a bit slow. The reason they put that there is to get people to pay the enormous fees for UPS or FedEx0

I guess I could be liable for import duties? The order I am looking at is about £8000

Check with HMRC, they should be able to tell you what you will be liable to pay.chemical.galaxy wrote: »I guess I could be liable for import duties? The order I am looking at is about £800.0 -
