Firstly, they are allowed up to 30 days to do the refund.

Secondly, its only been two working days since your request for a refund.

    Wait until 27 July.
If no resulution by then, then update this thread.

A refund can be processed by a company fairly quickly but banks tend to take 3-5 working days to complete the transaction. Some banks may even take 7-10 working days.

Give it a few more days and if you don't hear anything contact the company again. And as wealdroam said the company is allowed up to 30 days although it's a bit naughty of them to tell you 24hours if they intend to take longer

Oh... I read it that the OP had received the email within 24 hours.

But if you are right then of course that is poor.

basically the company that i purchased the coat from said on the 27/06 they had received the item back and would process the refund within 24 hours. What makes me very angry is their is no sign of this refund on my credit card and further to this they are now ignoring my emails trying to chase up why they have not processed the refund

We're just suggestion you give them another few days :)

After all, them processing the refund within 24 hours and it being actually credited to your account are two different things ;) You could also call your card company and enquire if there are any pending transactions.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
