Hi
About 2 months ago I had a kia which i had problems selling .In the end I took it to my local car dealer who said he would do it up a bit and give me 1000 pound for it sale or return and gave a recpit to that effect.
1 week later he sold it for 2400 pound and gave me a cheque which bounced . He has now-given me another with a story why he can not give cash and an apology . If that bounces what comback do i have . He has sold the car as i said and they have been seen locally .
Hes been a local dealer for some years and i thought he was ok .
this has been posted in the cab board just in case

You'd need to sue him for the money. Hang on to that reciept!

Hang on to the bounced cheques too - you can sue based on a bounced cheque0

In the modern age you can do it all online!

Worth speaking to Trading Standards though. Courts like to see you've exhausted all the other possibilities.

First try and lodge the new cheque.
If it bounces then you can issue county court proceedings. It's easy, i do it regularly. Two bounced cheques would mean you need do nothing else.
However, a business that bounces two cheques may well not have the funds to pay you so a judgememnt against them may be a Pyrrhic victory.0 -
I know this sounds daft but what about the kia , Some one brought it but surely thst means they are the registered keeper not the owner ,0
