Car breakdown cover from insurers.

I have just received my Car Insurance renewal letter from Direct Line. They are quoting me £116.00 for breakdown cover, supplied by Green Flag. I contacted Green flag directly and was quoted £73.14 for the exact same level of cover! A saving of £43.00. Do all insurance providers put a mark up on breakdown cover?

Some do some dont, but in addition to this some breakdown providers have a different pricing model depending on which distribution channel is being used.
If I remember correctly, Greenflag do a rated product if you buy directly from them (ie price is dependent on you/ your car etc) where as they sell it to intermediaries as a flat rated product (like the AA is in both models) so the price only varies by level of cover not by who/ what is insured
Therefore depending on the rating factors it may be cheaper to buy direct from greenflag (ie new car) or may be cheaper to have greenflag added to an insurance policy (ie old car)0 -
Sometime yes, sometimes no.
Have you looked at AutoAid at £37?0
