Jet2 flight East Mids Airport & Canadian passport

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not a Canadian national requires a passport check/authorisation when flying with Jet2.

I am flying out of East Mids Airport and we will be checking in online. Some airlines (such as Ryanair and EasyJet) have requested in the past that you report to their desk when using a non-UK/EU passport so that they can do a check in advance of flying.

Thank you!

If they do, you have to go to a desk first like RA, if they don't then just go straight to the line, little amount of time difference. When you checkin online it will tell you what you need to do.
What I do know is that if you are flying from EMA and have bags to drop off get to the airport 3 hours before the flight, they have the slowest security ever and we stood in the queue for an hour, nearly missed our flight.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

As stoneman says, go straight to the Customer Service desk and they will stamp your boarding pass to the effect that a check has been done - this will save you hassle at the boarding gate.

Thank you both for your kind replies! That's sort of what I thought. A few years ago I didn't get prompted for a RA flight and had to run the length of the aiport due to the most unhelpful staff, who must have known that the flight was delayed, but still made us seriously panic and think we'd miss the flight. Never again.

May I recommend the 3 GBP charge to use the priority security queue at EMA? It's bookable on the website of the airport and I've found it much better than their ridiculous queues. Even at 3 hours before I've been in the queue when the flight should have been taking off. Horrid!

    Thanks so much!

Just an update for anyone looking for advice in the future.

After checking in online, my printed boarding pass ticket indicated that I would need a "VISA-CHECK/NON-EU PASSPORT" and that I should go to the check-in desk on arrival at the airport to have this done, not to go directly through the security check.

I hope this might help others. I didn't find this on their website, so nice to know.

Additionally, I did ring the Jet2.com customer service for people with flights booked (using the saynoto0870 number, of course) and they were very helpful and did not charge me for an amendment to my boarding pass as I had selected incorrectly a detail during the online check-in.
