Chipped/split tooth-anything to avoid eating?

Hi, I'm not looking for any medical advice here, just wondered if anyone has done this and if so, were they told anything about eating/drinking.
I split/chipped my front tooth last night and have got a Dentist appointment next week but the receptionist didn't give any advice. I've no pain, but wondered is there anything I should avoid eating to prevent any staining or further problems (I don't drink so can easily avoid the red wine!)
Not tried eating hard things like apples or raw carrots etc. and don't think I'll be eating them anytime soon! I think I broke it on a nectarine stone but was only aware of it when I went to lick my teeth and lips, so I think I must have swallowed the chip!
Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks

I would avoid acidic foods - citrus fruits, apples, orange juice, soft drinks, sugary foods etc. Think raw carrots should be ok, but perhaps avoid chewing with that tooth.0

Lay off the sugary and acidic foods and use a rinse after eating/drinking not water?Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0

Unless your dentist has advised you never use a mouthrinse as it washes away the fluoride from toothpaste and interacts with some of the other ingredients.
You should spit not rinse after brushing to keep the fluoride in contact for as long as possible with the teeth.0 -
I would ring the dentists again and ask for advice.0
