Edwardian Style Conservatory approx 45 sq mtrs

We are having problems with black mould reappearing in the roof sections, only afew months after being cleaned with Dettol Anti-Bacterial Mould and MildewRemover.

We use a de-humidifier on occasions when conditions are wetoutside and warm inside to help clear the water vapour.

We open window to keep a good flow of ventilation but still thatdoes not seem to be a cure.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and did they find asolution?

Kind regards

A few months after cleaning it returns? That's about the going rate really for black mould. Spores are always present in the air and anywhere condensation forms it can grow.

If the materials is painted then you can repaint with anti-mould paint to keep it away. Polycell also make a residual mould killer which I wipe around the window frames every winter to keep mould away, which has extended our mould cleaning from every couple of weeks to every couple of months. It may extend how often yours needs cleaning too, but I wonder if it's already lasting a couple of months between cleaning if you'll have much benefit. Maybe it would be worn off by then or washed away by condensation over time.

Ben84 Many thank's for your contribution, anti-mould paint sounds a positive solution for this problem + Polycell residual mould killer.

    Kind regards

  • Have you thought of installing a hit and miss vent where the mould is forming.

  • Mould is just a bacteria bleach will clean it off and kill the bacteria.
