Frozen food delivered defrosted

I often have my food home delivered. A few times now all my frozen food has turned up de-frosted. Has anyone else experienced this?
They always refund me but I can't understand why it's happening.

It's probably the packaging or the time it takes to get to you.0

I assumed it was kept frozen in the van. Is that not the case?0 -

Not usually, unless the company has it own refrigerated vans. Frozen food, delivered in small quantities to consumers is normally delivered in an ordinary van. They rely on the insulation of the packaging to keep the goods frozen. Usually it is enough, unless there is something wrong with the packaging or the delivery takes longer than expected.
Just out of interest, where did you buy the food from, and who delivered it? And did the deliveries take longer than usual for the ones that arrived defrosted?0 -
I don't buy a lot of frozen stuff, but the little I have had has always been fine delivered. I usually have a Tesco delivery.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0

Tesco's. Thinking about it, they probably were delivered late in the 2 hour slot.0 -

They're obviously not storing them properly, as mine have always been fine. Could you not have a word with customer service, and issue a complaint? That would really put me off using the service.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0

You should reject any frozen food that has thawed or started to thaw. It should have been stored and transported at something like minus 18 degrees. Sounds like at some point of the chain the goods have suffered from "temperature abuse" and certainly aren't fit for sale.0

Companies are cutting costs by using cheaper, poorer quality cardboard. It gets wet/soggy easier.
Its the same with tinned food. The canners are making the cans with thinner material and hence why they get bent so easily.0 -

I do complain and they always refund me but it's a nuisance because I have home delivery because I find it hard to get to the shops due to ill health.0
