The six golden rules of ebay discussion area

  • Up till recently I thought eBay was great if you were cautious and careful - which both my OH and I were. We have bought and sold, bth from private buyers and shops with over 300 transactions and 100% feedback. Recently I bought some yu-gi-oh cards from an American seller who supposedly discounts postage on more than one purchase, but when I asked for a reduced postage invoice after buying two items at once, I got full price invoices and no answer to four emails. I brought this to eBAy's attention and over a few mails their advice was, somewhat summarised:

    Sort it yourself
Call the seller (oh yeah, right, in America!!)
Sort it yourself, cos if you don't you will get a no payment strike
Sort it yourself, or leave negative feedback.(Having looked on the feedback history, this seller ALWAYS leaves retaliatory feedback if you leave it for him)

Not saying everyone on eBay is a criminal - we aren't - but just don't expect eBay to give you any help whatsoever if anything goes wrong.

The best excuse i've been given for over the top P&P was this woman who said that payment included her taxi fare in to the village and the promised authentic 'Gucci' bag was such an obvious fake the cut and stitch were just awful and she had the cheek to say she was going to leave me know feedback because I was an awkward customer. I sent payment on the day the auction ended and she got it the following day.

I am still awaiting for payment for an item that E-bay have already billed me for, I ask for payment with in 7 days of auction end and it is now 12 days and the buyer is not replying to my messages. I sold the item for my 7 year old daughter and she keeps asking me when her money will be arriving. I did'nt know about NPB until I read about it on here. How long should one wait before putting in a complaint about them ? I dont think I would leave a negative feedback but certainly a neutral.

Last year I joined Slimming World online and downloaded all their Adobe docs etc to do it.

Is it ethical to sell them on Ebay?

I guess me asking this question means I think it isn't - but then I did pay the subs etc - what do you think?
