Asking the impossible!!

Ok you lovely people, this is taking moneysaving to the extreme...
I am desperately in need of a break, even a weekend/long weekend/few days away. Only problem is I'm totally skint!

I have had a really bad year, work & health wise and am seriously fed up. All I would like is a wee few days away, just me and my wee dog. Funds EXTREMELY limited. Camping is out of the question (healthwise).

Anybody any suggestions?

£78 for three nights in a single B&B for you and the dog. It's 128 miles away from Glasgow so might not be suitable if you don't drive. Plenty of lovely landscape to look and walk around though!

    The Premier Inn sale?

    Use a house-swop holiday website and house-swop?

Decide you're "on holiday" but go from home and see free museums, take a picnic, do stuff that you would do if you were on holiday - Glasgow has lots of free stuff that most of the locals probably don't use on a regular basis.

Revisit the places you went as a child on holiday as a daytrip?

    Thanks for the replies!
wkdhoney - that B&B looks lovely and is within my limited budget... I will contact them to find out about vacancies. Looks just what I need! Thank you again.

ailuro2 - Also going to have a look at Premier Inn prices, even a night away would be good and didn't know they allowed dogs. House swap is not an option, I have three 'adult size' children at home which is one of the reasons I want away!

As somebody once said, if the kids would move out I could holiday at home :D

My brother-in-law still lives at home and my parents-in-law house-sit our house when we go on holiday. They love it and say it's a holiday for them. :rotfl:
