Yes I do believe I had it before I got on the ship and would not blame them for a moment. Neither did I have legionnaires, strange how one question can esculate.
I can't see anything in the small print either, I think they cover all wording at great length !!!
There may be some one out there who has tried it, a long shot I know.
People claim for ruined weddings but I guess they buy the insurance for only that purpose.0 -
It will still all be tied down as to what is covered and what is not.People claim for ruined weddings but I guess they buy the insurance for only that purpose.
For example the date of Princess Diana's funeral was not covered on wedding insurance however I believe the industry agreed to cover someone moving their wedding booked on this date out of goodwill (I mean good publicity).
They won't be able to claim for every "ruined" scenario just as in your case,
It will be stipulated exactly what they can claim for.
For example death of a relative will specify exactly which relatives qualify.
I totally understand where you are coming from as your holiday was ruined from your point of view so it's intuitive that you would be covered, but from the insurers point of view they cover specific risks e.g. death, cancelleation.
I guess one of the issues for them with covering your scenario is exactly where the dividing line is.
For example if someone is dead or in hospital it's provable.
I have no doubt that what you say is entirely true but how would an insurer prove you didn't eat the meals or stayed in your cabin?0 -
So sorry that this happend to you but well done for getting a claim for your sister, that was a wondeful thing to do, she must be so happy to be provided for and not to have to worry. x0
