GWIZZ couriers - no UPS Shipping label?

Hi there

Does anyone use/have used the booking couriers GWIZZ?

After reading some information on this forum about them being highly recommended and offering low cost insurance cover i decided to book my first collection/delivery with them at around 6:30pm this evening.

Booking was for UPS next business day delivery - collection booked for tomorrow. Went through with the booking and sucessfully went through the payment - however i cannot for the life of me find the UPS shipment labels to print/attach to the parcel. It states on the GWIZZ website:
G WIZZ Courier Services – UPS labels for UK Mainland now generated automatically by the system within moments of placing an order. No more waiting around for emailed labels except on international shipments. UK Mainland labels can now be found in your ‘Order History’.

I have received an email regarding the creation of my account - but ive received no confirmation email for the actual booking/payment - if i login and go to my orders page the collection/delivery is shown as being paid for - but the only thing i can view is the VAT receipt or the booking order details - no shipping label.

If anyone can shed any light on what's happened or what i should do about the label, it would be greatly appreciated...

I wonder what will happen if the courier turns up and there is no shipping label attached to the parcel? Can they refuse to take the parcel?

Office hours for GWIZZ is mon-fri 9:30am -5:30pm - courier due to collect tomorrow between 9:00am-5:30pm

Until a few weeks ago they emailed the label to you shortly after making a booking.

They recently introduced the 'automatic label' creation system. I've only used them once since this was introduced and I didn't receive a label email, only confirmation of order email. I found the label in the 'orders' section of my account on their website. The tracking number was also shown against the order.

OP - sounds like something's gone wrong, the label should be available to view/print under your orders but you say it isn't there. The only thing you can do is phone them first thing this morning.

I went through their website with a fine tooth comb (basically looking for any info re. the shipping labels system) and i came across a page that states if you make a booking over the weekend, then this will not be processed until the monday after and therefore the shipping label may be delayed.

At 8:50am a received an email with the attached shipping label - so thankfully all is well and UPS picked up the parcel at around 10am.

One thing that does puzzle me is the fact i have no tracking number next to the booking in my orders page (i have a clickable reference number but all that does is show details of the booking) - i have however located the tracking number from on the packing label. Also the label is still now displayed within my orders page....

Their prices are very competitive - however the shipping label saga does appear to be a worrying one if im honest - any number of things could go wrong and the sender would be left with a nice re-booking fee....

Thanks for the update - I didn't know about the 'weekend' label delay! I'll bear that in mind for future bookings.

Before the new automatic label system was introduced, they never quoted a tracking number in any emails or on the 'orders' page - you had to make a note of it from the shipping label. As I said, that changed for my last booking made last week.

I still think the cheap insurance outweighs the hassle - I save nearly £20 each time because my parcels are over £1000 in value (compared to Interparcel who I used to use). Not forgetting that it's still UPS doing the collecting and delivery!
