Sorry guys, my typo - this was a barclays select loan, like an extended overdarft which you can draw down the funds as and when you need it.

Last week I got what I believed was a standard rejection letter from Barclays sating that they were not upholding my complaint, the letter was dated 20th June, I spent the weekend preparing forms for the FOS Today I was informed that my complaint had been upheld and had been refunded

    £870.79
    £69.02
    £239.39

So don't give up ! I don't think they know what they are doing or are they stalling for time.

Today having been rejected by AMEX because I ticked a box and they sent me T&C I have rang them and advised that the FOS do not accept these as a reason for rejection awaiting a reply.

    Only MBNA to go now.

Thank You Martin and everyone else on the forum for their help

Just prepped my letter to the FOS and also a reply back to Barclays expanding on the points they have deemed reasons to not uphold my claim. Fingers crossed.

Your letter to Barclays is very likely to fall on deaf ears, especially if you've passed your complaint to FOS.
Expect a wait of a year or more for the Ombudsman to adjudicate.

FOS will inform the bank, you don't need to.

Just received a letter from Barclays regardin my PPI.
They say my application was submitted by post, at the point of applying for PPI, as no advice was given the process required you to select the specific type of cover you required.
As a result we are not able to uphold your complaint.

Is there anything i can do?
