Help with shower screen assembly

I have been trying to assemble a B&Q shower screen today with my adult son's help and we just can't seem to get some of the screws in - we can get them so far then they are stuck and I'm afraid of ringing them if I try to force them further. They are No 8 Pan Pozi screws. Is there a particular knack to these?

spray WD40 in the hole first
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

A little bit of butter or cooking oil does just as well and is always at hand.
The knack is to tighten/slack off/tighten etc etc, they should go in a little further each time and once 1 complete turn is managed it gets easier ;)

What I normally do is use one or more screws to create the threads and then use a new screw for a perfect undamaged finish.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
