Switch to a baby shampoo. It could be that the shampoos are too effective at stripping the natural oils away and her scalp is responding by producing more oil to combat it.
Baby shampoo is as mild as anything and may resolve the issue.0 -
sorry, I can't recommend a wet shampoo for washing, but I use dry shampoo between washes. It seems to hide/soak up the grease for short periods. Handy if you've no time to wash.£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

will try the baby shampoo,i thought it might be caused by hormones?0

that may well be the cause but you're not going to be able to correct that with shampoo, are you! I think it's more likely to be over-washing and/or too harsh a shampoo.
Always eliminate the simplest thing first... If it is hormonal good luck for the next few years! :rotfl:0 -
A few tips I've learnt over the years of having greasy fine hair.
Is she washing her hair every day? she will probably have to start doing so. (If she has a fringe you may be able to get away with just washing this if you are in a hurry)
Don't use conditioner (apart from a tiny amount on the very ends)
Try to make sure she doesn't fiddle with her hair as this can make it greasier.
Try using Tresemme natural shampoo and conditioner as they contain less silicone/sulphates which can weigh the hair down.
Be careful her hair doesn't hang in her face as it can cause spots.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Also try using lukewarm water rather than hot. I have had a lot of success with Timotei, baby shampoo, and also herbal nettle shampoo. It really is trial and error though so you just need to keep looking. She may not need conditioner at all at 11, but if she does, then literally just on the very ends.Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

I had greasy fine hair but when I switched to Johnson's baby shampoo it got better. I agree with I wanna live for free that probably many shampoos strip all the oil out and therefore stimulate oil production. When I use baby shampoo my hair is so soft and silky I don't need to use conditioner at all but maybe long hair would benefit from that on the ends.0

I have always had greasy hair and a brilliant hairdresser I used to go to helped me. Far from washing everyday this just get into a cycle of your hair producing more and more oil.
You need to wash less often and with very mild shampoo( I use baby shampoo as I have it in for the kids)-avoid rubbing into the scalp and always rinse in luke warm water. The longer you can leave it between washes the better. The first few days after you stop daily washing it goes horribly greasy, but drys up by the end of the week. I now only wash my hair with shampoo about every fortnight when it really needs it. I do wet the hair through with water in between when I shower/bath and thats it. Never use conditioner at all and avoid hairdriers and try to dry naturally-I use air drying where you use your hands to run through the hair and dry it.
I have been told my hair is in really good condition with no split ends etc.
When younger I did use talc and dry shampoo, in between full washes so to speak but I don't now.
If you stop using soap at all on your hair it is supposed to go very greasy then eventually after a few months dry up by itself and I am tempted to try this and just use water, but it just feels nice to actually soap it up once in a while lol.
Trouble is a teen will want to obsessively wash/style/blow dry/straighten etc etc I did at that age. I found a perm dried it up alot (remember those 80's spiral perms rofl), but they aren't very in vogue now are they and she is probably too young for one anyway
Good luck
