How do I delete “fill in” options in Firefox and IE

I don’t know the correct term for the “fill in” options so I will try and explain.

When I log onto sites such as my bank or credit card account, I have to fill in account details such as my name. Firefox usefully stores the options so, for example, as soon as I type “A” it brings up “Avoriaz” so I can click on that and not have to type the whole thing every time.

How do I delete those options that I have either mistakenly entered or no longer need.

For example, suppose I have mistyped “Avoriaz” as “Avoriax”. This means that when I type “A” I am presented with both options “Avoriaz” and “Avoriax”.

How do I delete “Avoriax” so that only “Avoriaz” is presented?

I presume the data is stored either in the Registry or a text file.

I use Firefox and IE so answers for both please. :)

Use the arrow keys to highlight Avoriax and press the delete key. Repeat for any other entries you want to delete. Also, instead of typing A to show the entries starting with 'A', press the down arrow to show all entries. Works in both IE and FF.

Thanks Chippy, you are a star. :)

It is embarrasingly simple. I'm ashamed I couldn't work that out for myself. :o:D

    I did try something similar.

    Honest. :D
