Average Gas Conumption

I have just had my first gas/electric bill from Scottish Power. My electricity consumption is ok at 9 kWh/day and the gas is 30 kWh/day.

I live in a 3 bedroom house with just gas central heating and water heating, no gas cooking, no gas fire.

What would be an average consumption for this type of scenario?

Thank you

According to a website that I just looked at which gives annual figures (which you would therefore expect to be using less at this time of year) the figures for an average 3-bed house work out at:
    gas: 25,000kwh/pa = 68.5kwh/day
    elec: 5,500kwh/pa = 15kwh/day

Looks to me like you are using a fairly reasonable amount per day considering it is Summer (supposedly).

I live in 3 bedroom house gas central heating. with heating set low but comfortable.
    Electric: 2000kwh.pa = 5.5kwh/day
    Gas: 12000kwh/pa = 33kwh/day

I guess it can vary greatly. I pay £600 / year gas and electric bill which is very low compared to most £1000 plus. so I guess your figures are about normal working of this assumption.

30kWh per day is 10,950kWhpa. Assuming a quarterly bill from April to June, that seems very high, given that the heating will not have been on for much of that period.
An average might be around 17,500kWH pa, and the bulk of that will be used in the coldest 3 months.
You can't calculate averages based on just a summer quarter, if that is how you derive your 30kWh figure.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I roughly have the same usage as you but my bill £176 more than you a year.

Could you please tell me who your supplier is?

Hi Ettenna - On the info you have, and have given, Forum comments can only be guesses.

Usually the Qtr ending in June will show a steadily falling Gas consumption because with warmer weather you don't need the heating - But Spring and Early Summer this year have not been "Usual", and even in the Soft South where I live the heating cut in quite often in May and June.

Probably your best bet to try and establish your Annual use, is to contact BG and ask what these figures were for the previous occupier of this house, but even that will not be definative as one families bills will be different to another familiy in the same house
