BT Broadband - Free Wifi Minutes & inclusive allowance

Hi folks,

Father has BT broadband with inclusive allowance of 10Gb per month and unlimited wifi minutes.

I am away from home at the moment but still in the UK. If I were to find a BT openzone wifi signal from a neighbours BT router and log on with dad's log on details, does what ever I use data wise come out of his 10Gb allowance or is it completely unlimited?

Any responses would be welcome!
Regards, Robin.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
It would be part of his unlimited wifi minutes.

BTW you can only do this if he has subscribed to BT Openzone / BTFon (i.e. there is a working BTFon hotspot on his home router). Otherwise you would have to pay for BTFon access.

Thanks for this - there is a BT openzone and FON broadcasting from dad's router at home.

So just to be clear the 10Gb usage limit relates only to what he would use at home and I would be able to exceed this on my travels without incurring him any extra costs?
    Regards, Robin.

Correct. The 10GB limit affects everyone connected to the private part of his router (not the BT Fon bit). You would be using the public part, which is unlimited (there's undoubtedly some fair usage policy or other in force)
