Home insurance... Personal loss not realised for two weeks.

Hi there,
I have personal effects away from home cover.
I've just realised I've misplaced a camera, left at a hotel, two weeks after the event, due to having two camera bags, and not realising one of hem was missing.
If I report to insurance co now, do you think they will reject the claim on the basis that I'm outside of the reasonable timeframe?
I had no reason to need the device or the two weeks, and being used to it being in a particular bag, I didn't realise it had gone (I have that bag but not the other)
Any thoughts?
Obviously I'm now taking action to try and recover but not sure I will be successful.
Thanks

Check the terms of your policy before contacting them. You will need to report the loss to the Hotel and allow them to see if the can find the bag. There also may be a requirement to report the loss to the Police local to the Hotel, if the Hotel cannot find the bag.
Make enquiries first and then approach your Insurers. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Thanks will do.
Have spotted their FAQ says they request incidents are reported within 30 days...0 -
But do you have to have a report from the hotel?0
