^^^^^ This!
At the risk of sounding like some tree hugging hippy OP, remember that negativity only harms yourself and for as long as you are carrying it around, it is eating you up inside. It doesn't damage the other person who is no doubt completely unaware of your feelings. be the better person, let it go and move on.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
A big thank you to you all for your advise and kind words. I agree that I need to be the better person and let it all go. There was more to it which I wont go into now, but it all made me very angry. I am still working under this team leader which doesn't help the situation, but will be moving departments in couple weeks. I think I need to concentrate more on me, rather than fighting the company for justice0

Completely agree there !!! ....just grit your teeth for the next few weeks
I'm glad you got the all-clear.....unfortunately I was not so fortunate 8yrs ago....had the surgery, chemo, radiotherapy etc.,....it has made me grab life with both hands.
Concentrate on enjoying your life.0 -

Remember the team leader's name - you have the rest of your life to get your own back. A few years down the line when they don't expect it.
Violence excepted of course. Would never condone that. But there are non violent methods for revenge - like when they nailed Joan Ferguson on the last episode of Prisoner Cell Block H. Maybe she is related to your team leader!0 -

I had a Cancer scare in April, and have just had the greatest news last week that I am in the all clear, thanks to the big man up there watching over me.
However, I still went to work the next day hearing I had all the symptoms of lymphoma cancer, I broke down to my manager for 20 minutes who said it was ok for me to go hospital to undergo emergancy tests. However, 1 week later, I had a disciplinery to attend for "not informing my manager of my absence and not following company procedures". I ended up getting a disciplinery as my managers did not believe me over my team leader. I did follow company procedures, and this was all a lie. I was a completely broken down as it was, and had to get a trade union rep involved, who fought my case and submitted evidence. HR over turned this decision as I went through the appeal. However, this has left me in more emotional stress more than ever, and was wondering if there is any action I can take against my teamleader? HR states I am unable to make a complaint of my grievance as it is now case closed, and my team leader has to attend couple training courses in management. Any advise is welcome. Many thanks
Secondly I would spread the word, within the company and elsewhere about what has happened to you. The work place where you are sounds pretty nasty from what you've written, so to be honest, I think I'd be inclined to step back, take a look at what's important to YOU, and maybe make some decisions as to whether YOU want to stay there or (hopefully) do something else with your life and let the heartless, petty little rule-following bureaucrats all get on with it.
I understand your anger and bitterness. Your team-manager just sounds like an opportunist, without principles. Not a nice person, but alas this seems to be the type who gets on in the workplace these days!
Just try and rise above it.0 -

It must be very difficult having such a B!**h for a manager, only self-interest that is important to these kind of callous managers and is only interested in crawling up the greasy pool in the company. Do they really think that they will get through life without been ill or any members of their family been ill.
The old saying what goes around comes around and hopefully it will be next week for her. [FONT="]
