balance transfer

Hi All,
just a quick question on balance transfer (i'm sure this has been asked before but i couldn't find it on the forum)
I've been accepted for a cc with 0% balance transfer and it will really help with clearing some debts. However the limit is much higher than the amount i'm transferring over. Could I add my wifes cc to my new 0% card to help reduce her interest charges? Do the card you are transfering money from have to be in your name?

Yes you can as long as your wife credit card is not issued by the same provider as your credit card.

Not necessarily.

Some issuers will ONLY allow BTs from cards held in the main cardholders' name, and not by anyone else (eg: Santander) although this is uncommon.

So you need to check the terms carefully.
