Some great pics again today!
Still raining here but I have got the ironing done so can do a few comps now. I just do them as they appear although I do look for my favourites if I think I have missed some. Do try and do the dailies as have had some lovely prizes from them - wish there weren't 5 questions to answer though as it takes so long!Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

I was wondering if someone could help me please!! I'm after a bit of advice after a dodgy phone call regarding this competition - https://marieclaire.ipcmediasecure.com/secure/community/competitions/60412/win-a-800-makeover-photo-shoot-session.html
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4124871
Anyway, the lady said I'd won, even though the closing date on the website states 14th November. She advised me this was because they have numerous prize draws throughout the competition.
She also advised me I had to put down a £60 deposit which I'd get back at the end of the day (but I've got a feeling she said I'd get this back in vouchers?!) She said she'd also give me vouchers for a restaurant where I'd get a £30-50 meal for £7.95... Bit random!
I found the phone call very forceful, she spoke extremely fast, especially about the deposit and tried to make it all sound amazing and wonderful. I don't think she was too impressed when I said I wanted to look into it.
Another thing, she also gave me https://www.make-overs.co.uk as their website, but on the Marie Clare website it states https://www.makeoverlondon.co.uk.
I really do think this is all dodgy, but wanted to get other people's opinions.
Also, does anyone know if I can report this to Marie Clare as I'm sure when you win a competition you shouldn't have to pay a deposit!
The competition also states 'This is a limited offer.' How can a competition be a 'limited offer'?
Thanks guys : )

Sounds very dodgy to me, I would NEVER pay that kind of money as a deposit on a win - report them to Marie Claire & see what they say.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0

Thank you, princessmoneysaver. It's not actually a win is it if you're having to pay a £60 deposit!!
I will try and send Marie Claire and email to see what they say.0 -
I agree with princessmoneysaver - sure I have heard of this type of scam before.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Sadly there are many photo shoots that you have to pay deposits on before going and you usually find you get noprints in the day and you just get hard sell afterwards to buy the prints. I would say it has nothung to do with Marie Claire comp and just a call to get peopke who entered into a studio and pay for a shoot. Sadly there have been many posts on this forum to a similar nature... Its just sales£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

One of my main rules I obey to on here is I never pay out anything to receive a prize there are only a few exceptions that I can think of: travel costs for prizes such as tickets, hotel stays etc and spending money on a holiday win. Everything else if they expect me to pay any money I wont accept. That includes the vast number of emails I get telling me I need to pay £1.99 postage.
This reminds me of a phone call I got years ago (I know of others receiving the same call) saying Id won the latest mobile phone for free all I had to do was sign a monthly contract. Now to me that's just getting a contract phone, but some people actually thought they won something. Haven't heard of that one for a while though.
Anyway Im still waiting for my Email from some rich man (not in this country of course, usually Africa I believe) who wants to give me half his millions if only I pay him £500 first so he knows my bank details :rotfl:Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday

Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:0 -
Haha, thanks guys!!!
I certainly won't be taking up this offer. Good job I realised it was all a bit dodgy, I bet so many people think 'wow, this is great' and end up paying the £60 and being forced to spend money buying the photos.
It's terrible that companies are allowed to do this. I don't actually think the '£800 makeover and photoshoot' will actually be given to anyone as such, as she told me that's what I'd be receiving on the day and that I'd been randomly picked as 'Marie Claire's lucky winner'.
Horrible company!! Not really too sure why I entered.0 -
Finished my assignment last night.
DH said I can have anything I want for dinner. My cravings lately have been pizza but don't want to get a takeaway again!
