Vim and Ajax are very abrasive and in time you will see all the tiny litttle scratches in your surfaces which will fill up with even more grunge so youre cleaning them more and more often.

But I think this is the only way youre going to get your bath clean.
with something abrasive, or try one of the sponges that has sponge on one side and an abrasive sheet on the other.

I bought some Stardrops ammonia,(white) I soak my blinds in it a couple of times a year, double whammy cos it cleans the blinds and the bath comes up sparkling.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Well since I posted I soaked the shower head in neat vinegar for about nine hours. After a quick scrub its looks lots better but there is still some black on the rubber nodules on the head.

Hmm, limescale is usually white. I'd give it a really good rinse then repeat with a bleach solution to get rid of any other grott.

You can get replacement shower heads, could be worth watching out for 1 reduced...

Yes it is however it is not unusual for dirt and mould to be attracted to the limescale and is then a major pain to try to remove, hence the discolouration. Get rid of the limescale and the dirt/mould disappears with it.

This is where I get my 'vinegar'

The brown stuff is OK, and Sainsbury do a cheap range 600ml bottle for 13p, or Aldi 17p.

I too have a 'dimpled' bath I use a cheapo rubber bath mat from wilkos for about £2.99.These last about 6 months, and then I just buy a new one.My bath is so small I only use it to stand in for the over head shower anyway. As my balance isn't very good anyway I need a rubber mat to stop me falling over,I don't 'bounce ' very well at my age :):)
