Compensation to affect my student finance application??

Hi all,

i really need some advice on im applying for my second year at uni, but in around 2 weeks i am going to get a large some of money for compensation.

i am a full time student with one child and a partner who has just moved in with me and is about to start a new job and though im aware i wont be able to claim housing benefits etc as the compensation is over the 16,000 threshold, i may be able to get tax credits.??

i need to know whether my student finance will also get affected by this compensation, ive researched and all i can seem to find is non taxable compensation through job loss is exempt but it says nothing about any other kind of compensation. i claim childcare for my daughter and need to know if student finance will still pay for this?

anyone got any knowledge on this matter? any help would be much apprieciated.
