August free parking in Paris?

I am driving to Paris in August. I heard that parking is free in most of place there in August. Anyone got experience? In particular, any suggestions for free/low_cost parking in La Defense area? Ta.

Parking is free in 90% of Parisian streets for the month of August

click on the bit that says 'rues payants' for an idea of streets where you will have to pay but this does date from 2011..couldn't find the update for this year.
Parking along the river is closed due to the Paris- Plage that gets set up every August but around La Defense you should be able to find free on street parking.
'stationnement gratuit' means free parking if you want to google for updated results0
