Entertaining toddler, early morning London

My husband has an appointment this week in Grosvenor Square. There is a risk I won't be allowed in with him. I need to find places to take my daughter while we wait for him.

The appointment is at 9 am, but we will be sent away from security around 8.30 am. He will be there anywhere from 1 to 4 hours. And he also won't have his mobile phone (security at the embassy won't allow it), so will be dependant on pay phones to call us and arrange meeting back up.

If the weather is nice, Hyde Park is 2 blocks away. There are cafes and toilets, which is toddler essential. But if it rains, I have no ideas. Oxford street with a 2 year old sounds hellish. All the lovely museums like the British Museum, the Natural History Museum and so on don't open until 10 am. Is there anyplace walking distance you can recommend that opens at 9 am?
