Cleaning Kardean Flooring

We have got Kardean Flooring and have been buying the special routine cleaner you can get to clean the floor, but as this costs a bit I just wondered whether anyone is using just regular cleaner and whether it actually makes difference or not?

Whilst I would rather spend 2- 4 pounds on cleaning materials, I don't want to do any damage to the floor.

Any advice, gratefully received?

Tesco do a wood floor cleaner, we use it on our Amtico floors and it is just as good as the Amptico cleaner and lots cheaper.

You can use pretty much anything apart from bleach without damaging the flooring. I have had Karndean in my last 2 houses and very occassionaly use the deep clean stuff to lift any residue off but tend to use cheap stuff out the supermarket or mistral odourfresh which is an animal disinfectant.

currently I have a mixture of Karndean and Vusta flooring and use whatever is to hand. The genuine stuff is IMO not worth the expense.

Thanks Ali. I thought you could use other things, but wanted to make sure first! Didn't want to do any damage to the floor. Sounds like I could have saved a bit of money, luckily we haven't been in the house too long. At least I can start saving now, thanks!

Cleaners are either acidic or alkaline (caustic) mixtures mixed with a general degreaser.
Bleach will shrink any pvc based product, the magic product is a bit of a myth .
A good quality metallised floor polish will make cleaning easier as the dirt is repelled by the polish.
Invest in a good dressing and then any reputable floor cleaner will do the job.
