Hi all

I've searched the forums for Santanders unfair charges address. Does anyone have the correct one as i cant find it.

Is it the address as shown below?

Complaints
Santander UK PLC
PO Box 1125
BRADFORD
BD1 9PG

Or could the claim be made using the online complaints form on the Santander website?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Kind regards

Malcolm.

You may wish to change tack with your complaint. If you state you are claiming the charges are unfair then you will get a rejection as the banks won that argument. Even the FOS dont take on complaints about unfair bank charges any more.

Yes, either method may be used to lodge your complaint.

    Hello Malcolm

As dunstoh has already said, unfair charge claims will no longer be considered.

However, you may want to study the advice on here to see if you might fit into any other criteria for your claim:

    Thanks Mo.

I read the guide and thats what made me decide to try and claim.

One question. Currently i'm not in 'financial hardship' but at at the time (around 2007) i was. I didn't know i was being charged and the charges built up over several months (snowballing). Yes i should have checked my statements but i wasn't using the account and thought i had left it in credit.

Do you have to be in financial hardship now when i'm making the claim even though the charges were several years ago?

Do I contact the main bank address rather than going down the complaints procedure?

    Kind regards

The MSE site is filled with all sorts of excellent advice and, consequently it's sometimes difficult to find the wood for the trees.
This should answer your first question about hardship now or then:
    1) "Who can go to the Ombudsman?

The Ombudsman has said it will only look at cases based on the ‘fairness' criteria – in other words, if you have been harshly or unfairly treated. It's specifically noted three different reasons which it would be likely to look at on this basis.
The reasons can either apply to your situation now, or at some point in the past. Yet importantly, if you're no longer in hardship the Ombudsman will look at how your bank treated you at the time and whether you are still struggling. To help your case you should have contacted your bank for help when you had the difficulties."

    2) As your claim will be classed as a complaint use Bradford complaints address or as Wywth suggested you could alternatively use their on line complaints form. Personally I would post them your complaint letter by recorded delivery and don't forget to keep a copy!

Hope this answers all your queries.
