will you have a car or be reliant on trains ?

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions!

St Fagan's, Cardiff city centre and bay, Cardiff Castle and a drive to Brecon Beacons sound particularly good. We will be travelling by car so have some mobility.

If you like beaches head to Ogmore By Sea / Southern Down ,some nice pubs too for a refreshment :) and little coffee shops for a cream tea / cakes !

also Cowbridge has some fab restaurants and quirky little shops

Cardiff Bay / Barrage is a a nice walk and again lots to see do / eateries etc

    Happy planning

Miss scrooge - you were probably asked because some people in Wales do actually speak Welsh, but they tend not to have it tattooed on their forehead, so they need to be asked.

I know why I was asked because it was her job to ask it's the funny look she gave me when I said english.I do look foreign well my hair does anyway.:rotfl:

If you dont mind travelling come up into the valleys to Llancaich Fawr Manor house, Treharris, Nelson. It is a living history museum and the tours are fascinating - I know, cos I have taken a few myself and I only live a couple of miles away.

The attraction is award winning and the history of the manor house comes alive as the servants take you around and regale you with anecdotes about the house and the family.
the cost is reasonable (about a fiver I think) and it is not difficult to get to from Cardiff.
the tour itself takes about an hour and quarter but you can spend as long as you like in the grounds and visitor centre.
you can find out more by googling 'Llancaich Fawr Manor'
