La Residencia, Deia - looking for a cheaper alternative ?

La Residencia is still great and I love it but as you only get value from such expensive room rates by staying in the hotel through the day for the most part, you quickly rack up large bills for lunch, snacks and dinner. This can push the daily bill to over €1000 a day which is a relative madness (rooms at €600/700 B&B).
Now I am looking for a potential alternative. It doesn't necessarily have to be in Deia, perhaps not even in Mallorca, or Spain but it should capture some of what La Residencia has.
Large pool relative to the number of rooms is essential. Onsite food must be good and options nearby essential. No desire for a mega hotel with 100s of rooms. Kids welcomed.
Don't want anything to do with Arab places or ex Russia / Eastern Bloc types. Just regular sunny Europe only.
