    hi k
why did they advise not to? do you have anything to loose?
i lived 3yrs in fear i either went out after postman had been or dreaded coming home. i had a company tell me i was going to loose my bike regardless of what i did which, just wasnt true.
one dark jan eve i had a man from a dca on my doorstep who for £192 terrified me. even when the charity sent the chq for the fees i still didnt know what to do. one day i spent hrs crying down the phone i just didnt want to loose the only thing that i treasured, well apart from the cat, lol.
after br what did i loose? well i lost nothing they didnt take my bike didnt come round and take my things away and didnt call me stupid.
in oct 2011 an un insured driver wrote off my bike :( so the moral is if br will give you a new start then what have you got to loose? because you dont know whats going to happen.
if im honest im not 100 percent relaxed yet but some of thats my personality.
    keep us posted :) x

Hi rossireps, the advisor i spoke to and it was only an initial interview advisor said the debts i have are not alot and it was i step too big for the amount, about 22k. i would swop places with her then let her say that, lol. You said a charity sent you a chq for fees, was this to help with br? my only income at min is jsa, so my worry is how do i pay for it anyway? I am paying token payments to creditors £1 - £10 pm so at min not been pestered, but how long will this last and its still on my mind all the time, its no way to live/exsist. i may go to cab to see debt advisor on tues and he may say im better br, something inside me is hoping he thinks that the same as me, or am i just looking for the easy way out k

....unless you have assets or other bankruptcy compliations - I would be thinking the same as you.

    hi
well my debts were less than yours and i did it. i paid token payments for a yr but would never get anywhere and still got the letters etc. moroncroft accepted token payments after they sent, the bloke around. but if they were willing to send him around for less than £200 ,i didnt want to have another creditor do it or worse.
i was very lucky that as an ex royal mail employee that they have a charity that helps with things. they saved me as without them id never have been able to do it.

Well been to see a debt advisor at cab, unlike the previous advisor he said bankruptcy is the only way forward, just as i thought.
i was making token payments but he said to stop, if the letters begin to appear i should just ignore them. i suppose i am quite lucky being on jsa as there wont be the court charges to find, my daughter bless her said she will pay the £525, she just wants her mum back i guess, cant remember the last day she didnt see me cry. how did it come to this all my adult life i paid for everything, i had debts yes but i paid them all. It just goes to show one bad twist and well here:(. so when is a good time to call cab back for the forms to be filled in, what would you advise, now or give it time to sink in and then do it ? when i fill them in and file them how long will it take before i go to court K x

yep just ignore them nothing they can do really. personally i would get on do it and get it out of the way. you may not need cab for forms i did mine. fairly straight forward. you do need proof of benefit for the court fee.
as for getting to this, when my husband left i had no debts,3yrs later i had over £16k. so dont fret x

Thanks rossireps i will get on and do it, no problem with the proof of benefit, from filling your form how long was the court date, just need to get a time line in my head lol. exactly the same here it was the split with my long term partner that was the turning point, he helped me to start the debt then left me for one of my customers. never mind all in the past k x

i rang court and was offered the next day but declined that lol and was given one within a week. my court only booked up to 2 weeks in advance.
my husband left for someone he worked with :( but didnt leave me with debts that was all my doing, although i was a poorly person and had never lived alone.
