Zanussi parts- amazing

I have a Zanussi washing machine that will be 20 years in the autumn . I have only had one engineer out to it (he couldn't solve the problem despite a call out fee) But this week it really broke. I found a local engineer - no call out charge- ordered the genuine parts from Zanussi which will arrive on Monday.
Amazing- they still have the parts after all these years. Clearly the appliance of science, as they used to say.
My machine certainly does not owe me anything.
Thank you Zanussi

Zanussi sound like they may have found a good design for some of the parts and kept with it
What part is it that's died?
IIRC Indesit used the same couple of pumps for years (so were easy to get hold of replacements), and many companies will keep major parts common for many models when it comes to things like washers/dryers as it saves their service guys time, and makes it easier for the logistics (not to mention testing)
It's the individual parts specific for the model that tend to become hard to get (timers/programmers, and some seals).0 -
My Mum's had her Zanussi machine coming up to 19 years and it's only had a minor repair once (I recollect it being a belt issue?), and the part arrived with the engineer the next day. I think the repair occured in it's 10 or 12th year, so my Mum had expect to have to buy another, but it is still going strong.
My Grandfather however, is on his third machine in the same timescale having gone for a Servis, Hoover and now he's on to a Hotpoint0
