Any good travel insurance deals around?

Last year I have purchased Virgin Money annual European travel insurance for around £12(Single person) which I though was a good deal. When however I look up for it this year on moneysupermarket it is £18.41.

The cheapest ones on there now are from some unknown providers like CHEAPER or Coverforyou. I somehow do not really want to trust myself to these kind of companies as I have a perception they are much more likely to refuse the claim.

I wanted therefore to ask if anyone has seen any cheap travel insurance deals(Including cashback sites) which are via reputable well known company.

Many Thanks

No idea, but remember all insurers will refuse a claim If you don't declare all material facts. Forget about the price and find a policy that provides the cover you need. saving a few quid is worthless if your claim is refused.

You only save money if it provides what u need. Buying travel insurance on price does not achieve that unless you ensure that the cover is what you need, otherwise the money is wasted!

I think you are being unfair to the OP. What he is asking is what are the good travel insurance deals around and what are reputable companies. Armed with this information he can then select the insurance that is required AND at the lowest cost. Seems perfectly reasonably. If you simply choose the first policy that provides the 'cover you want' you might pay twice as much as if you look around.
To the OP; it's not easy and takes time. Try to find reviews from people who have actually made a claim; not just people who 'booked online easily and cheaply'; they all do that. What you want to know is will they pay out willingly in the event of a claim. Unfortunately a lot do not seem to.
Here's a start, WHICH best insurers:

OK InsureFor have reasonable reviews (see ReviewCentre) though not so good for article loss. I was mainly looking for medical cover which is by Europ Assistance so that's OK. If you enter discount code INS022 you can get 15% off. You can also get cashback with topcashback.
Now that's the sort of useful answer the OP was after!

    Hi,

DO NOT USE Debenhams Travel Insurance. They use Travel Claims Services who are useless. Their post room lost claim papers, never e-mail or ring you - always the snail mail post. Everything is in 5/6 working days from when you ring them. They are 0844 numbers - always take ages to answer - get put on hold - then they are 'only' call centre operatives - with NO surnames!!
