Free Lightbulbs?

I have no idea if this is the right forum to post this, apologies in advance if I have got it wrong.
My MIL told me you could get free energy saving lightbulbs from your local service point....does anyone know if this is true??

    I can afford anything that I want.
    Just so long as I don't want much.

    Like....your local council, you know...where council tenants go to complain, report a fault in the property, sort the rent etc. Sorry, I call them service points.

    Maybe your MIL can get them from her local service point.

    However most of the subsidies for free or 10p lightbulbs have stopped now.
    A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

    Basic energy saving light bulbs, the sticks, are pretty cheap and available at most DIY sheds.

    Sorry, we're mainly property-owning capitalists here, so we wouldn't know anything about those sort of things.
