Do you think these are authentic?

I want to buy myself some Converse trainers and the cheapest on ebay are these ones;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Converse-Chuck-Taylor-Trainer-High-All-Star-NEW-AUTHENTIC-All-colors-and-sizes-/221049971013?pt=UK_Women_s_Shoes&var=&hash=item33779ae145#ht_8697wt_1139

However, they are sent from Hong Kong which made me think that they may not be authentic. What do you all think?

If it seems to good to be true, chances are it is.
At that price, fake I would have thought.

OP, last Xmas my Daughter wanted a pair of converse and so I decided to save a bit of money by buying them on Ebay.

I wasnt really that familiar with converse and so just chose the cheapest pair on Ebay at the time.

At the time they were going for £29.99.

They arrived from China and I just quickly glanced at them to ensure they were the correct size , colour etc. As I say converse werent really familiar to me....

On xmas morning my Daughter took one look at them and said "THESE ARENT CONVERSE!"

She put them on her feet and it was obvious they wernt original!

On the left foot the white rubber bit at the toe was much bigger than it was on the right foot lol . It was actually hilarious as they were so different lol.

Unfortunatley the time frame for opening a paypal claim had passed and so I was stuck with odd shoes.

Cost me more in the long run as I then had to go out to the shops and replace them with an autentic pair.

I honestly wouldnt recommend that you buy the pair you have shown in your link.
The loopy one has gone :j

I'd say they're fake. However, if you want to get cheap converse, try looking on the Discount codes/vouchers section of these forums, ie for Office or Schuh or even ASOS, and then redeem it against a pair on the websites.
  • They look very real. Buuuuttt always check feedback a couple people say they're imitation and not real :) hope this helps.

Amazon have them on sale often. I paid £11 for my converse last year, from amazon, not a third part seller. Then got two more pairs a few months llater for £13 each.

A lot reasonably priced there, the black are around £35-£45 depending on size. May as well spend the extra and know they're original.

Item location is given as United States/HK Hong Kong. Address details are given as Honolulu. This would ring alarm bells for me - far eastern fakes?? I'm afraid I wouldn't touch them!:)

Add south wales to your dodgy locations :)

Recently looking at some items and needed it fairly quickly, So didnt want chinese sellers with 8 days +. Narrowed it down and found quite a few chinese sellers listed as south wales for the location.

Some said despatched from the UK. 3 - 4 days, Others had 6 days which i assumed would be direct from china.

Dont buy anything if your not prepared to throw the item away when it arrives.

HUKD have a good deal with kids converse at Debenhams with some codes, might be worth looking to see what they have for adults.

Some dodgy terms and conditions and returns policy. Also their explanation for sending out without original packaging. A few alarm bells I would avoid personally.

If in doubt, leave it out.

I'd always rather pay a bit more and get real stuff or quality; I look for items on sale as for a markdown the item has to be on sale at that price for a reasonable amount of time; something which is cheap from the off is more likely to be of poor quality or fake.

If you can find them on Amazon, I've very rarely had a problem with fakes there, if ever, so there's no real reason to trust this person with your money.
