Home Insurance after underpinning

Please can anybody give me some advice on getting a good price for our home insurance. The property was underpinned but this was 10-15 years ago and I find it hard to get a good quote since we bought the house in 2009. £350pa at present through Walmsleys (subsid of Swinton). Documentation shows underpinning was done due to a collapsed drain and that there is no ongoing subsidence issues. Price comparison sights show very limited options and last year when I phoned a company who came up with a good price they didnt honour it and quoted me a higher price.

It is a shame that the date of the subs is not precise. Legal & General will normally quote if the subs happened more than 15 years ago.

Try Bureau Insurance Services or Home Protect.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

We just insured with Axa Insurance and it asks you to tick a box asking if you have had subsidence or underpinning in the last 10 years. They don't seem to be interested if this occurred more than 10 years ago. We have historical movement to a Victorian property. Nothing has moved in 15+ years...

Companies have done this before and then decided not to offer transfers of cover when you sell the house which can cause big problems
