disable blue badge parking rules ?

hi
i am taking my nan down to brighton for a few days
she is a blue badge holder but my uncle did 99% of the driving (and parking) sadley he died a few months ago which is why i am looking after her

she does not know the full laws regarding where/how long she can park and i have looked at the badge and it doesnot tell you a lot

can you only park for 3 hours

does she have to pay in pay/display bays

tried looking on my local council web site but its not very clear

any help would be great (i know parking is a nightmare in brighton so do they have diff rules to other places)
