my first problem with Ali Express

I've got my first problem on Ali express and it is proving difficult to resolve and it looks like I might be about to lose my first money on there after a very successful run.
Bought some stock (low end items- space fillers) and it has arrived minus a vital component. Am on live chat now and they agree I should have this missing bit on each widget but say they can't send out the bits as it is not cost effective and to get my bits I need to place a new order and they'll add the missing bits to that order when they post it.
Unfortunately they have got expensive for the stuff I sell, so I would lose money in placing an order with them. I also would spend far too much sending the items back , so it looks like I might have to just drop this and lose the money. I can salvage something from the stuff I have, so all is not lost- but I suppose it shows how lucky I have been in the past with buying from Hong Kong.

Hmmmm...
Have you tried to use their buyer protection, I've never had a problem, so don't know, but it looks as if they can issue partial refunds and refnuds without return...

I had a quick look but as 'most' of the order arrived I think I would be expected to return it all- it isn't faulty.
However , they are blooming good, I have somehow been persuaded to order more at a reduced rate so they can add the missing bits to my parcel. They must have been very persuasive !
However despute pleading I would not confirm full delivery and told them I would wait until the missing bits arrivedI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Soolin, can I just ask. If you are buying from outside the EU via AliExpress in bulk do you normally get caught by the customs/import charge here in the UK? If not, how do you avoid it?0

A few of the things i buy are so cheap that I am below the charge limit and on occasions I have paid extra to have my order split into two parts if it goes over.
However a lot of the stuff is sent with the wrong price on it (sometimes even higher than I paid) and I get charged on a small number- enough to still make it economical to buy overall.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
